About Highline Systems
After excelling for 18 years in information technology I founded Highline
Systems Corporation in 1999 to fulfill a life-long ambition to run my own
company. I had succeeded in organizations both large and small in various
capacities from Programmer Analyst to Director of Technical Services. Most
of my experience had been in actual software development - as a
consultant developing custom applications and commercial software products.

Creating an Identity
As someone who is focuses on details, creating a interesting and meaningful
name for my new company was important to me. In this time of a million Dot-Coms,
establishing a unique name can be challenging. After struggling with trying
to create a technology-based name, I started thinking about other things I really
enjoy. Since I have a life-long passion for skiing, I began to list my favorite
ski runs. Within a few minutes the perfect name became clear.

What Makes a Great Run...
Highline is an expert ski run at Copper Mountain, Colorado. Copper is appealing
because it offers a wide variety of terrain with easy access. An early starter
can ski a lot vertical feet there in a day. Highline is a favorite run because
it is steep and goes straight down the mountain. It travels right under a chair
lift and is typically covered with huge moguls. Once you are on the run there
is no escape - you have to take it all the way to the finish!

Makes a Great Name
As one can deduce, I prefer a good challenge, whether on a
mountain or especially behind the keyboard of a computer.
Highline represents what is important to me in the way I
conduct my consulting practice. I seek out complex problems,
create elegant solutions, work through invariable difficulties
and complete what I start - Always taking the "high
line" of excellence right to the end.
